Lodge your United Kingdom/British passport application at Australia Post

The British Government, in collaboration with Australia Post, is introducing an improved passport application service. You will need to lodge your British Passport application at one of more than 110 Australia Post retail outlets nationally.

Australia Post will provide a range of services for the British High Commission including:

application reviews for new British passports (Adult - C1 and Child - C2) and renewals. Download and print the fee sheet and forms from ukinaustralia.fco.gov.uk
collection of fees
secure delivery of the passport application and supporting documentation to the British High Commission
secure return of the documentation once the application has been processed.

To apply for a British Passport you will need to:

Visit ukinaustralia.fco.gov.uk and download the correct forms and the fee sheet.

Fill out the applicable forms and bring them to a participating Australia Post retail outlet with the relevant documentation as per the application form and notes.

You will need to bring with you:

the current fee sheet
completed application form (Adult - C1 and Child - C2)
two identical photos that meet British Government requirements (for details, refer to the photo guidelines)
all relevant documentation as outlined by the British Government.

Australia Post can take instant passport photos for you. However, please note that your photos need to be taken before the day of your interview as one of them needs to be signed on the back by a counter-signatory (this is someone who can verify who you are). For information on who can act as your counter-signatory, please refer to the notes for your application form.

Australia Post employees are unable to answer questions on UK passport eligibility or legal document requirements or countersign applications.

Make sure you provide ALL required information with your application to avoid delays.
