Australia Post today released the final three in its series of 12 Zodiac stamp booklets featuring the signs in the solar Zodiac calendar.
Australia Post chose the Zodiac theme for this latest stamp issue because of its broad appeal, making it a novel gift idea as well as a fun way to start or continue a stamp collection.
Each Zodiac stamp booklet features a detailed cover illustration and contains insight in to the personality traits, attitudes to life, likes and dislikes of each of the 12 Zodiac signs as well as 20 x 50c stamps featuring the booklet’s Zodiac sign. Colours, stones, flowers, trees and animals significant to each zodiac sign are also listed, along with well-known people born under the sign.
“Astrology is a favourite pastime for many Australians from all walks of life - whether they follow it for fun or are dedicated stargazers. The Zodiac stamp booklets are proving to be popular with Australians of all ages and lifestyles,” said Australia Post’s Philatelic Group Manager, Amber McDougall.
“Our Zodiac stamp booklets are the perfect size for a star sign profile and feature unique stamp pages and images. All twelve of the booklets are illustrated in a distinctive, quirky style that is accessible and contemporary, making it an excellent gift for family and friends.”
Australia Post designer Beth McKinlay was responsible for creating the design of the booklet and ensuring that each booklet was not only unique but could work well as part of the complete set.
A minor addiction to reading her horoscope every day greatly inspired Beth to develop original, playful and stylised illustrations.
All 12 of the Zodiac stamp booklets are now on sale for $10.95 each at Australia Post outlets from today, just ask at the counter or via mail order on 1800 331 794. Overseas customers can purchase online at www.auspost.com.au/stamps.
