Personal Banking at Post

How do I do my personal banking transactions at a Post Office?

Bank@Post™ is a agency banking service offered at over 3300 on-line Australia Post outlets. It allows you to use your credit or debit cards at the post office to undertake a variety of financial transactions with participating banks and other financial institutions, including:

  • deposits and withdrawals
  • account balance enquiries*
  • payments for credit card bills*

Commonwealth Bank passbook account holders can also make deposits and withdrawals at hundreds of non-technology postal outlets, usually located in rural areas.

What are the benefits of Bank@Post ?

Bank@Post extends Australia Post’s range of financial services, making the post office a one-stop shop for agency banking, bill paying and other financial transactions.

In regional and rural communities, Bank@Post provides local agency banking facilities, thus providing a wider choice in banks and other financial institutions for the community.

For interstate travellers and tourists, Bank@Post offers nationwide on-the-spot agency banking convenience when they are away from home.

How do I use Bank@Post ?

Account holders with our participating financial institutions can use Bank@Post. The account must be one which can be accessed by a credit or debit card and PIN.

Just present your credit or debit card and tell the Australia Post staff that you would like to make a Bank@Post agency banking transaction. Then you need to swipe your card and enter your PIN to begin.

Please note, cheques deposited as part of a Bank@Post deposit may take longer than three days to be converted to "cleared funds" by your financial institution.

For more information on the number of clearance days applicable to your cheques, please contact your financial institution.
