Australia Post aims to increase the use of postage metering among our business customers. That's why we've introduced a range of benefits to all customers using Standard compliant postage meters.

Customer Benefits

• 2.5 % reset rebate - Customers who use an approved postage meter  in accordance with the conditions of their licence agreement will receive a 2.5 % rebate on the reset value of every meter reset. The rebate is automatically received at the time of billing for the reset. It is only available for postage meter resets and does not apply to any resetting fees a supplier may charge for processing the reset.
• Access to more services - You can use your postage meter to access our business mail discounts.
• Pay by Australia Post Business Credit Account (Charge Account) - Customers who operate an Australia Post Business Credit Account can charge their postage meter resets directly to their account.
• Simplified presort letters lodgement documentation - As metered mail already carries a postage value, the lodgement documentation for metered barcoded and unbarcoded presort letters is quick and easy to complete.
• Modem resetting - Customers will enjoy the convenience of modem resetting. It puts an end to last-minute dashes to the post office.
• Quick and easy mail preparation - Meters make light work of business mail. There's no need to preprint 'postage paid' envelopes or to stock lots of different stamps.
• Street posting box lodgement - Customers using standard-compliant postage meters may lodge up to 300 metered articles per day in a street posting box.

These features may vary according to the different models. For more information on the features of individual machines please contact the postage meter suppliers. Examples are:

• Cost control - Many meters can generate detailed expenditure reports, allowing you to cost your postage expenditure back to specific departments or customers.
• Slogan blocks - Most meters can print a slogan block alongside the postage impression. You can use the slogan block to display an advertising message, logo, seasonal greeting or return address.
  Australia Post reserves the right to refuse to carry metered mail bearing misleading, confusing, offensive, undesirable or otherwise objectionable metered advertising messages or slogans.
• Security - Most meters offer password protection, securing your funds against unauthorised access.
• Business-friendly solutions - By teaming a meter with weighing and pricing scales, calculating the correct postage for any article is easy.

High-end meters offer folding and inserting and automated feeding devices. As meters can be integrated into your existing mail production line, weighing and charging is fully automated.
