Overview

The computerised nature of barcodes means it is important to place the barcode in the correct area of the envelope. Barcodes can be placed anywhere within the shaded area below.

Barcode Dimensions

Australia Post has specified the following as the dimensions for barcodes.

• Barcode height is between 4.2mm and 5.8 mm
• Length will depend on use of additional bars
• 2mm (Quiet Zone) required at the top and bottom
• 6mm (Lead & Trail Quiet Zone) left and right.

It is also important to consider:

• Printing
• Forms design
• Envelope design
• Window face size
