When you need extra peace of mind with urgent items, Express Post Platinum provides you with a signature on delivery as well as guaranteed* next business day delivery within specified networks.

Express Post Platinum is Australia Post’s premium service – so anything you normally send with us, can be sent using Express Post Platinum.

If you are sending documents or lightweight smaller goods, you may want to use our convenient prepaid satchels.  Available in two versatile sizes, you can select accordingly and ensure you only pay for what you need to use.  And, as with all Express Post prepaid products, discounts apply when you purchase in bulk.

For your larger and heavier goods, you can choose to use the Express Post Platinum parcels service. Assessed over the counter at our post offices (just like our standard Express Post parcels service), this new service enables you to send parcels within the next day guaranteed* network with the additional features of online tracking and a signature on delivery.

Recognising the importance of proof of posting to our customers (and their customers), we introduced a comprehensive customer receipt with all Express Post Platinum products. This receipt is endorsed by PayPal as an approved method of proof of shipment when lodged over the counter at Australia Post outlets.

Buying Express Post Platinum products

What can be sent with Express Post Platinum

Anything you can normally send with Australia Post can be sent with Express Post Platinum.  By using Express Post Platinum, you are choosing Australia Post’s premium mail service to send your documents and goods – therefore standard parcel weight and size restrictions apply.

Refer to the Dangerous and Prohibited Goods and Packaging Guide for items that cannot be sent through the post.

Posting Express Post Platinum

• Postal outlets – lodge your Express Post Platinum item over the counter at any post office within the appropriate Express Post Platinum networks.
• Express Post Gold street posting boxes (prepaid satchels only) located in major business areas – by 6.00pm (earlier in Perth CBD and suburbs and some provincial areas).
• As required posting times may vary in some areas, check the relevant post office or Express Post Gold street posting box.
• Do not post Express Post Platinum satchels in red street posting boxes as this will void the guarantee.

Please note, due to temporary changes in road infrastructure effective December 2009, the Express Post GOLD posting boxes in Perth CBD will have a closing time of 5.30pm until further notice.

Completing the lodgement checklist

To ensure you receive Guaranteed* next business day delivery, make certain the:

• delivery address is complete, including postcode
• the Aviation Security and Dangerous Goods Declaration on the front is signed
• sender’s details are complete, including contact phone number
• item is the correct weight for the prepaid product type (up to 500g or 3kg for the satchels).

Express Post Platinum parcels can weigh up to 20kgs.  Each parcel may be up to 105cm in length with a girth of less than 140cms.

Obtaining Proof of Posting

To obtain proof of posting you must:

1. Complete the customer receipt with the addressee details and delivery address as per the front of the Express Post Platinum item.
2. Affix the “sender to keep” barcode tab to the receipt in the space provided.
3. Present the customer receipt at the counter to be postmarked when the item is lodged.
4. Retain the receipt for your record.

Sending within Express Post delivery networks

Post your Express Post Platinum item on Monday to Friday within the guaranteed* next business day delivery to street addresses and post office boxes in the network. Items sent outside these networks will receive guaranteed fastest delivery.

Delivering your Express Post Platinum item

We can deliver “to-the-door” of just about any business or private address and any post office box in Australia. If the recipient is not home, a delivery notification card will be left advising that the item can be collected from the local post office.
