Mail Measurement Phase 2

Australia Post is working with Major Mail Users of Australia (MMUA) to enable mail measurement at an industry level.  Mail houses will be asked to provide originator details (company name) at lodgement. 

 

Status to date

On April 1 2005, three Bulk Mail Partner (BMP) mail houses started participating in the first Pilot Scheme.  The three mail houses recorded the originator for each lodgement in the "Customer Details" section of e-LMS and identified any opportunities to improve the process.

 

Detailed customised reports were provided to each mail house covering:

  • Mail house's lodgement volume by product (i.e. PreSort, Print Post, UM, etc) for the month;
  • Lodgement volume by day of the week throughout the month;
  • Detailed Promotional and Transactional mail volumes by industry;
  • Mail house's share of Promotional, Transactional and Unclassified mail by month (volume & percent);
  • Mail house's lodgement  volume by industry by "Mail Type" for the month (PreSort & Clean Mail); and
  • Portion of mail lodged to mail house and customer accounts for the month.

 

Next up

Planning for the second Pilot scheme is currently underway.  Any mail houses that would like to participate should e-mail   mail.measurement@auspost.com.au
