They have entertained adults and children for generations, appeared in their own movies, television shows, commercials and theme parks and from today, thanks to Australia Post, they will now appear on their very own Limited Edition Souvenir Stamp Sheet.

Ten stars of Looney Tunes will today appear in POST shops around the country on a Limited Edition of 10,000 Souvenir Stamp Sheets.

Each of the stamp sheets is individually numbered, presented in a high quality presentation folder, and comes with an accompanying 6 inch plush Tweety doll for only $15.95.

“Developing this stamp sheetlet has been a fantastically fun project,” proclaimed Mr Noel Leahy, Group Manager Philatelic, Australia Post. “Everyone has their own special Looney Tunes memories and personalities, so the hardest part was selecting which characters we could fit on the Limited Edition sheets. While there wasn’t enough room for all of the Looney Tunes characters, we have definitely captured the most popular in a way that depicts the spirit of the cartoons!”

The ten characters featured range from the oldest statesmen of the Looney Tunes gang, Porky Pig (who made his on-screen debut in 1935) to the poster bunny of Looney Tunes, Bugs Bunny. The other classic characters featured include old sparring partners Tweety Pie and Sylvester, traditional rivals Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Daffy Duck, Marvin The Martian, Pepe Le Pew and Tasmanian Devil.

The characters are featured fighting for space on the surround of the stamp sheet. They are also given their own individual stamp tab. The reverse of the presentation folder includes some fun facts on each of the characters, highlighting their first appearances and most memorable quips.

“Given that this is a limited edition product, we are expecting that there will be strong demand for these Souvenir Stamp Sheets from adults and children alike who want a collectable of their favourite Looney cartoon characters”, added Mr Noel Leahy.
