Posting Box
Your letter starts its journey in the street posting box or your local post office. Letters are collected and taken to the mail centre in your state’s capital city.

Mail Centre
Mail is barcoded and postmarked at the mail centre. It’s then sorted electronically into different postcode destinations. Some mail is even sorted right down to the postie's round.

Despatch & Transport
The mail is sent to its destination within each state, interstate and overseas. It travels in all sorts of ways – by van, truck, aeroplane, ship and train.
