Geospend entered the market in 1992 with a customer profiling system built specifically for Australian businesses. Australia Post quickly recognised the potential of the fledgling organisation to help facilitate more effective direct marketing strategy and became a 50% shareholder. By 1997 Geospend had become a wholly owned division.
In 1997, Geospend also launched the Australian Lifestyle Survey. Today, our Lifestyle database is one of the most comprehensive lifestyle databases in the country.
The Australia Post Mover's Kit was launched in 2001 offering businesses the opportunity to reach the lucrative movers market through advertising and in 2003 began offering a unique channel for targeting movers with direct mail and email.
The division also provides data cleansing services to help businesses keep their address databases up-to-date. This assists in maintaining customer contact when they have changed their address.
In February 2006 Geospend relaunched itself to the market as First Direct Solutions with a strong focus on communicating to its varied solution offerings in a more consistent and coherent way.
