Post won three national fleet awards, including the Australian Trucking Association’s Technical Manager of the Year Award
and an environment award. It also developed specially designed new refrigerated vehicles, to meet Post’s Coles Online grocery delivery contract. Post continued motorising postal rounds, and upgrading its 10,542-strong vehicle fleet (10,404 previously), the nation’s third-largest, to make it cleaner and more reliable. However, fleet costs increased because of the
low value of the Australian dollar, the effect of the GST on vehicle and parts prices, fuel costs, and falling residual values. We absorbed the higher costs of fuel ($10.1 million) without imposing surcharges on our customers.
