This Council provides advice and perspective on all matters related to important postal services.

Council members for 2000–2001 were:

Rod Cameron, the Council’s Chairman until he retired as an Australia Post Director in December 2000 and was replaced by Ken Allen; Brian Baulk, Divisional Secretary, CEPU; Bill Blair, former Group General Manager, Queensland United Foods; Colin Brideson, retired school principal, member of the Board of Masonic Homes in South Australia; George Etrelezis, Managing Director, Small Business Development Corporation, Western Australia; Tom Greene, Managing Director, Ortega Publishing Pty Ltd; Marie McGrath-Kerr, Chairman, Post Office Agents’ Association Limited; Nick McRae, Managing Director, Reader’s Digest; and Margaret Smith, Immediate Past National President, Country Women’s Association.

With Ken Allen’s retirement from Post’s Board in June 2001, a Post director, Katie Lahey, became Chairman of the Council.
