ABOUT INSTANT STAMPS
The XVIII Commonwealth Games will see Australia Post continue its tradition of producing “instant” stamps to commemorate the wins of Australian gold medallists. The stamps, in sheetlets of five or 10, will be available at selected outlets within 24 hours of a gold medal win. This will be the first time Australia Post has produced stamps celebrating Australian Commonwealth Games gold medallists.
The Commonwealth Games Instant Stamp program will feature action as well as portrait images of the Australian gold medallists. It will consist of four different sheetlet types, culminating in a Most Memorable Moment sheetlet, which will feature the outstanding moment of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
15 March – Opening Ceremony (five x 50c stamps available from 16 March 2006)
16 to 26 March – Australian Commonwealth Champions (sheetlets of five or 10 50c stamps issued daily from 17 March 2006)
26 March – Closing Ceremony (five x 50c stamps available from
27 March 2006)
27 March – Most Memorable Moment (10 x 50c stamps available from 28 March 2006)
