Welcome to the Letter Link website.

To coincide with the 2008 Olympic Games in August, Australia Post will once again be running its popular Letter Link program.

Letter Link, which was first established for the 1992 Olympic Games, encourages schoolchildren across the country to write to Australian athletes. It provides a wonderful opportunity for students to practise their writing skills while helping to boost the spirits of our athletes.

On this site you will find information on the Letter Link competition, which gives you an opportunity to win a cash prize and have an Australian Olympic athlete visit your school.

You can order your Letter Link envelopes right here on the website and you will also find curriculum-linked lesson and activity ideas and student activity sheets for use in your classroom.

The Olympic Games Facts appear both here and in the student section of the website, and both you and your students have access to two exciting and engaging interactives. The Write Your Letter section has a letter writing interactive which allows students to write their letter on line and then print it out and mail it. The Olympics Quick Quiz is based on the Olympics Games Facts and offers two levels of difficulty.

Information about the Australian athletes whom Australia Post are in partnership with for the Beijing Olympic Games is also available for you and for your students.
