The Post Logistics website has a combination of virtual tour images and still photos available to view.
A virtual tour image is a photo that gives viewers the power to step inside the picture, looking up, down, and all around and from floor to ceiling. Viewers have the freedom to navigate in a 180°or 360° environment. To get the full effect of a virtual tour, the user will need to view the images using a program. The most common programs used are QuickTime or a Java application called IPIX.
To begin, select either QuickTime or Java from the screen options.
Once the image has loaded within the frame, to view the virtual image, click on the image with your mouse and drag it around the picture.
If using Java - To zoom closer into the image, press the plus(+) key. To zoom further out of the image, press the minus(-) key.
If using QuickTime - Use the arrow keys to move left, right, up, or down in an image. To move quickly, hold down the arrow key that points in the direction you wish to move.
Java is a free software platform that has been incorporated into a wide range of devices like PCs, Macs, mobile phones, cameras and more. It is a tool for thousands of business applications that has been written on one software platform and is viewable on others. Java downloads an environment 'shell' to your computer into Java applets specifically designed to run an application - in this case, an IPIX image. This arrangement enables small-sized Java applets to be used with specific applications making them fast to download and activate via the Internet. Normally, the Java software would have been included when your computer was built.
IPIX is the program of choice to view the virtual images using the Java applet.
QuickTime is Apple's free technology for handling video, sound, animation, graphics, text, music, and in this case virtual tour images. Most users have Quicktime installed or can easily download the program for free.
A virtual tour needs a program to enable you to move around the image. There are two programs available, QuickTime or Java (IPIX). You most likely have one or the other already on your computer.
If you have chosen to view the virtual images in IPIX format and you are only seeing a grey box or a box with a red cross then you may not have java support installed.
Visit http://www.java.com/en/download/ and download and install their Java VM plug-in for your computer.
If you have chosen to view the virtual images in QuickTime format and you are only seeing a grey box or a box with a red cross then you may not have QuickTime installed on your computer.
Visit http://www.apple.com/quicktime/win.html and download and install QuickTime onto your computer.
If you're still having problems viewing the virtual images take a look at our still photography. Each location has a number of stills.
