Account balance, usage and credit limit explained

Account balance

The total amount owing on your account.

It's the sum of the credits and debits at the time of calculation, including:

  • Amounts owing on issued invoices.
  • Unbilled transactions such as charges, credits or refunds which have yet to be invoiced.
  • Less payments that you've made such as 'advanced payments'.

Your account balance does not include charges (transactions) which are in progress and yet to be finalised.

Usage

The amount of your account credit limit that you've used, usually quoted as a percentage.

Credit limit

The maximum account balance that you're authorised to have on your account.

If you're approaching your account credit limit, apply for a credit limit increase.
